The last round at the Royal Birkdale Course ended with one-under-par 69. Harrington won the Champion of British Open for another term with 283 (74-68-72-69), 4 ahead of the second place. He then became the first successful defending champion from Europe at the British open since 102 years ago. Chasing from 6 behind at the British Open last year, Harrington defeated Garcia in the sudden-death shootout and put an end to the eight years of history that no European players ever won the championship. Harrington will get 1.5 million USD and 100 world ranking scores with this championship.

斯里巴加湾市，8月24日，在周日的高球锦标赛中，澳洲新秀里克?库拉兹以一杆精彩的沙坑球进洞抓得小鸟并击败中华台北的吕文德从而赢得文莱公开赛的冠军。2001年夺得世界青少年高球冠军的库拉兹打出本赛季中最佳一杆在帝国酒店和乡村俱乐部高球场以低于标准杆13杆和总杆数271的成绩击败吕文德并获得他的第一个亚洲巡回赛冠军。现年只有23岁的库拉兹一跃占据领先地位，他第一洞只打出了高于标准杆两杆，而在最后一轮的成绩为低于标准杆一杆，总杆数为70，而吕文德最终的总杆数为67。泰国的Somkiat Srisanga和美国的姜文喆在后九洞的对决中令人惊讶地取得领先位置，但在打完最后一洞时二人的总杆数分别为68和67并列第三。

中国高尔夫球协会、大新华航空公司及IMG今日联合宣布，位列劳力士排行榜全球第四的苏珊.彼得森和美国的摩根?普瑞斯将角逐首届大新华航空LPGA赛事。
世界排名分别位列第二和第三的安妮卡?索伦斯坦（Annika Sorenstam）和曾雅妮（Tseng Yani）此前已宣布参赛，在全球前四名的女子选手中，目前已有三位参赛，高尔夫新秀摩根?普瑞斯（Morgan Pressel）亦将参与角逐。
大新华航空LPGA赛事定于10月24日至26日在海南省海口市的海南西海岸高尔夫球会进行，吸引63位全球一流选手角遂高达180万美元的奖金。

TOUR STARS RACE TO MAKE VOLVO MASTERS OF ASIA FIELD
Bangkok, September 2: The Volvo Masters of Asia will head to Thai Country Club for the fourth successive season this December once again bringing the year to a thrilling conclusion on the Asian Tour.
The US$750,000 tournament, which was won last year by Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, will be played from December 18 to 21 and feature the cream of the region’s professional golfers.
The prestigious Tour Championship features an elite field of the top 65 players from the Order of Merit taken after the penultimate event. No halfway cut is made ensuring all players earn a paycheck.
“Another mouthwatering week of golf awaits us at this year’s Volvo Masters of Asia at the wonderful Thai Country Club. This is an event that everyone looks forward to from the players and official to members of the media and general public,” said Per Ericsson, President & CEO, Volvo Event Management.
The tournament was inaugurated in 2002 but was first played at Thai Country Club in 2005 when victory went to young Indian golfer Shiv Kapur. The following year the galleries watched in delight as the country’s most famous golfing son Thongchai Jaidee triumphed.
